All Change at Arsenal - Henry Linked With Former Club

Arsenal will undergo a few changes in the upcoming January transfer window if the rumours are to be believed. It would make sense for them to try and raise funds by selling fringe players such as Arshavin, Chamakh and Squillaci, and whilst they have been linked with a whole host of players, as is the norm in any transfer window, the one which stands out is the possible return of Thierry Henry. It would be a risky move for any club legend returning to the club where they are so highly regarded, especially late in their career. Some may expect nothing to have changed since the player departed, and he’ll still be able to perform Read more..

Get Your Coates - Liverpool To Sign Defender

Liverpool FC have been linked with yet another player (still interested?), Uruguay’s Copa America star Sebastian Coates, who currently plays for his home town club, Club Nacional de Football in Montevideo. Liverpool have been in the market for a centre back for most of the transfer window, having been linked with Phil Jones, Gary Cahill and Scott Dann amongst others, and the Uruguayan is very much in the same mould. The defender, who won the Best Young Player award, as well as his winners medal at the Copa America, would probably be keen to link up with his national team mate, and that tournaments MVP, Luis Suarez. With the Greek man mountain that is Sotirios Read more..

Jose Enrique To Liverpool - Fabregas Finally To Barcelona

The rumour mill is a frenzy of speculation regarding transfers which might actually become more than gossip and idle chatter.  Jose Enrique looks set to join Liverpool, but another Liverpool target Scott Dann looks more likely to join Arsenal going off recent reports, though both have apparently made a bid.  And speaking of Arsenal, the Cesc Fabregas saga may…. yawn.  He’ll end up at Barcelona one day, and hopefully for him he can live up to the ridiculous hype which has snowballed around this transfer.  He still has a lot to prove on the pitch even if he does join Barca. Meanwhile Wesley Sneijder’s flirting with Manchester’s two teams has taken another turn towards the Read more..

Juan Mata to, erm, Arsenal actually

Contrary to the widely held belief that Juan Mata would be on his way to Liverpool for the coming season, the player has decided he’d rather play a season of Champions League football for Arsenal, and with a signing as shrewd as this, they may even be playing it again next season. So far only the signing of Gervinho has hit the sub-headlines for Arsenal, and the only mentions we’ve heard of their other signing, Carl Jenkinson, refer the unfortunate own goal he scored against FC Koln. Juan Mata then, explains why Wenger has looked relatively calm amongst the speculation regarding players leaving the club.  His feathers were ruffled slightly by Mancini, but that’s all Read more..

Luka Modric wants to leave Tottenham, of that there is no doubt, but it seems the only thing the Spurs management are doing to keep him is just refusing any bids, and rejecting any requests from the player to leave.  Seems a shame for a world class player who wants to play at the top level, and doesn’t seem like the type of player to kick off about it like some prima donna footballers would.  Spurs feeling the effects of playing Champions League football one season, then not qualifying the next.  Classic quote from Redknapp “We know Luka wants to leave.  Writing it down on a piece of paper doesn’t make much difference to our stance”.  Great man Read more..

Liverpool FC look to buy at least one winger before the transfer window closes.  Many reports state Stewart Downing is the man they want, to swing in left footed crosses to Carroll, but Aston Villa seem to be holding out for more than they received for Ashley Young, which makes no sense! As we previously reported, Liverpool maintain interest in Juan Mata – who could prove better value than Downing.  But it is likely the young Spaniard will want Champions League football, so a move to Arsenal seems more likely for him. This could result in some bargaining involving Liverpool, Aston Villa and Wigan – as Villa and Liverpool seem interested in N’Zogbia, and Liverpool will be looking Read more..
